It’s been a busy year for travel and there is always a hiccup here and there. Air travel is not perfect. TripIt Pro ($49/yr) offers monitoring of all your flights and it’s saved me twice where the app notifies me about a cancellation faster than the airline can send an email. Both flights that were cancelled were critical and a quick call the airline fixed it in both cases. Being able to view alternate flights within the app I was able to find the exact flight I wanted and knew they had availability. The free version doesn’t monitor your flights and provide seat alerts. It’s still worth using either way.
You can organize all of your travel plans into a single view which makes it easy to see all your trip details in a quick snapshot. All you need to do is forward all your bookings (air, hotel, car, etc.) to [email protected]. Sharing a trip that you’ve created so friends and family can see the details is easy as well. If you are concerned with privacy, the details such as ticket # or confirmation code can be limited if you add them just as a viewer to the trip.
Sometimes you can forget to checkin to your flight 24 hours prior but TripIt Pro will remind you to checkin automatically with a push notification to your phone.
Have you tried TripIt? Give TripIt a try and subscribe to TripIt Pro if you value the enhanced features. Most of my traveling buddies are hooked!
