Credit Card Application Batch – March/April 2017
Over the past few months I decided to apply for 2 more credit cards and also received an offer from AMEX as I continue to diversify my point/mile balances. I applied and was approved for the following cards:
Bank of America Alaska Airlines Visa Signature ($75/yr, not waived 1st year):
-30,000 Alaska Airlines miles after $1,000 spend in 90 days
-(1) $99 Companion fare per year, best used for Hawaii 🙂
Top Reason for Applying: To build up my Alaska Airlines balance as they are now the most valuable points for a domestic airline once Virgin America shuts down their program at the end of 2017.
Barclays AAdvantage Aviator Red World Mastercard ($95/yr, not waived 1st year):
-40,000 American Airlines miles after your first purchase *Very rare to not see a minimum spending requirement*
-Inflight signup bonus of 500 AA miles
-1st Bag Checked free & Board 1st on AA
-25% off in-flight food and drinks on AA
-10% back on AA Award redemptions
Top Reason for Applying: To build up my American miles to fly Etihad Apartment Class again.
AMEX Platinum Extended Payment Option (no cost, invite-only offer expires May 15, 2017)
-10,000 AMEX Membership Rewards points for enrolling in the program
Top Reason for Enrolling: To boost my AMEX Membership Rewards points. This was a no brainer, but a targeted offer.
