My New Travel Gadgets for 2015

In the past couple of months, I’ve acquired a few new gadgets to make my travels more enjoyable and fun! I highly recommend all of them.

Bose SoundLink Mini Bluetooth Speaker – $399
This very compact portable speaker provides enough sound for an entire hotel room and is nice for music by the pool. It runs on an internal rechargeable battery and connects via Bluetooth to your mobile phone or iPad. It’s been an excellent device over the past couple trips while relaxing.

GoPro HERO4 Black – $499
After seeing a friend use one on a hiking trip I was sold. The latest model records videos in 4K (better than 1080P HD) and I’m amazed at the quality. The fisheye lens makes the videos and pictures very unique and you can capture some awesome footage. Be sure you purchase the latest microSD card to ensure it will work with this new camera.

Apple iPad Air 2 w/ Cellular 128GB – $829
I always opt to travel with my iPad instead of my work laptop due to the weight and size of it. I decided to upgrade from my iPad 2 which was released in 2011 and get the latest iPad Air 2 with Cellular. The cellular option comes with an Apple SIM card which allows you to change carriers in the US and UK as needed (unless you select AT&T) and select a prepaid plan. T-Mobile gives you 200MB per month for free for life which I have activated. Amazing deal when you need internet in a pinch when your MiFi runs out of battery or you need to take care of something very quick and no WiFi is available. The new iPad is very fast and handles everything I’ve tried on it even using TouchID to unlock it instead of using a passcode.
