Luggage Recommendations

I was recently asked by a reader to recommend luggage that would last more than a couple of trips. We have all bought luggage that lasted just 1 trip, but after 125 days on the road last year alone I’ve put some of the best to the test. The best brand in my opinion is Travelpro but Delsey is a decent alternative if you are a bit more price conscious and don’t travel often. I personally don’t like the spinner suitcases so I’ve always stuck with 2 rollerblade quality wheels for my luggage. My next suitcase I’ll try out is a Travelpro Spinner with MagnaTrac so it won’t run away just like Trader Joe’s shopping carts. Do you have a favorite suitcase? Comment below.

Rollaboard (Carryon)-

Travelpro Platinum Magna 2 22 Inch Express Rollaboard Suitcase

Feedback: I’ve used this suitcase on over 75 flights and it’s the best one out there. The quality is top notch and would highly recommend it. It’s well worth the price. My last rollaboard was a Delsey but this is a major step up.

Wheeled Duffel-

Feedback: I used this duffel for 4 years and it finally broke during my last international trip. It’s a great value and survived over 30 international flights which most of the time was packed full. I purchased mine from Costco so check your local store for availability.

Spinner with MagnaTrac (MagnaTrac: MagnaTrac is a revolution in Spinner technology. Self-aligning magnetic wheels roll straight in any direction you want to move instead of drifting or pulling to one side or the other like most Spinner luggage)-

Travelpro Crew 11 29″ Hardside Spinner

Feedback: I’ll be purchasing this one to replace my duffel that broke last month. I can’t wait to try out the spinner with MagnaTrac!

Feedback: Not tested but I would recommend based off of the brand and Amazon reviews.

After testing the Travelpro Crew 11 29″ Hardside Spinner in Silver, I’d highly recommend luggage in a darker color. I was able to swap the Silver one for a Navy Blue which has held up much nicer after multiple international trips.
