Air Seychelles Economy Class: SEZ-PRI DHC-6 Twin Otter
After arriving from Johannesburg on Air Seychelles brand new A320neo, we connected to Praslin on their small twin otter plane which they use for inter-island (domestic) flights. The plane seats 19 passengers, but given such a late night flight there were only 8 passengers. We boarded the plane from the tarmac and all our bags were loaded into the rear cargo area. There isn’t much room inside the plane so you can’t carry large carry-ons in the cabin area. It’s a short 15 minute flight from Mahe to Praslin. Flying at night, didn’t allow for any views other than the cockpit instruments lit up. We landed in no time, grabbed our rental car and headed to our Airbnb.
Conclusion: It was an uneventful flight and I wish it was during the daytime as we took the ferry back for the return trip. Don’t expect drinks, snacks, a cockpit door or air conditioning on this flight. Praslin is beautiful! Don’t spend all your time on Mahe.
